The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager Community Development to lead, inspire, and manage our community-focused services, including Youth, Community Development, Events, Aquatic & Recreation, and Library & Heritage. This critical leadership role is responsible for ensuring that our community services are high quality, cost-effective, and aligned with the Shire’s strategic plans. As the Manager of Community Development, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening and supporting community organisations, enhancing well-being, and building capacity within the Shire. You will work closely with diverse community sectors to identify needs, develop strategies, and implement inclusive and responsive services, programs, and facilities. Your leadership will guide the team in achieving the Shire’s vision, ensuring that all community services are effectively planned, delivered, and continuously improved, in line with Council priorities and the community needs.
We are looking for a leader with strong direction, people management skills, and technical expertise to drive successful outcomes across our community services. Your ability to foster community resilience, engage with stakeholders, manage risks, and secure funding will be key to advancing the Shire’s goals.
Please note that this position is based in Derby with a base salary range is from $120,000 to $140,000 plus generous allowances (up to $46,401), superannuation (11.5% & up-to 7% Council matching), housing, and 6 weeks annual leave.
